Discover the Authentic You

Who am I?

This question, or an iteration of it, is something I ask myself each and every day.  The answer is hardly ever the same.  I could tell you that my name is Dawn Ventura and that I own Infinite You Life Coaching LLC.  Maybe I could go on and explain that I am a mother, a certified Love and Authenticity Life Coach, a RYT 500 yoga instructor, a davidji certified meditation teacher, or that I am also an engineering teacher to amazing little children.  Or how about that I love reading, spending time with my family, and making birthday cards? These are all things I have or do, not who I am.  I am more than that.

Think about it…

Close your eyes.  Maybe even put your hands on your heart.  Connect to YOUR heartbeat, feel YOUR breath, listen to YOUR thoughts, move YOUR body, say YOUR name…  According to Merriam-Webster, YOUR is defined as, “of or relating to you or yourself especially as possessor or possessors”.  These are all things that belong to us. If I begin to observe myself, I start to realize that I am much different than I initially thought.

Let’s take it a little deeper.

Back to closing your eyes: Where are You?  Not your body, but the core of You.  When I close my eyes and ask this sacred question of “Who am I?”, my attention is pulled toward my heart.  Not the physical beating heart, but something deeper and more complex (or maybe even more simple but harder for me to grasp).  At the same time, as I observe, I also feel how this energy that certainly feels concentrated in my heart is also somehow in every cell of my body.  And, if I really observe, I can feel how this energy expands past the cells of my body and is somehow connected to everyone and everything.  So, I am this unique expression of the energy that creates worlds, that flows through us and everything else.

Okay, I know what you’re thinking.

Um, Dawn, I don’t feel all that.  Well, I’m giving you the 4-1-1 on my perception of who I am.  Who you are is for you to decide.  But, let me share a little something: I wouldn’t have always had an answer that looked remotely like this.  It is a product of taking time to meditate each and every day, of resolute self-reflection, and unconditional self-love and kindness.  Remember when I said the answer changes…your answer can, and certainly will, evolve as well.

And that is really just the beginning.

Dawn Ventura

My life has changed so much by adding yoga, meditation, and beautiful introspection into my day to day routines.  Not only do I answer the question, “Who am I?” differently than I would have three years ago, but I am calmer, less reactive, more confident, more aware of my life’s purpose (which is why I’m writing right now), accepting of how I look and feel, less concerned about the opinions of others, unraveling the beliefs that have held me back, and so, so much more.  My purpose absolutely is to share the beauty in what I’ve learned; to share the things that have helped me to shine.  I hope you continue to join me as I share the little gems and golden nuggets that I have learned or even am learning in future Ramblings of an Infinite Soul.
